There is no doubt that Engineering in any field has immense scope in India even though the competition is very high.  With the incorporation of new technology in the respective field, the scope of undergraduate education in engineering continues to grow leaps and bound. Choosing a particular engineering field depends on the choice of the student (area of interest and aptitude). In 2010, the engineering exam was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), wherein a total of 157,649 candidates applied for 434 vacancies.

If we talk about Mechanical Engineering, it is one of the primitive branches of Engineering, which has grown exponentially over the years with the introduction of new industrial sectors in India. Mechanical graduates are needed in every manufacturing and production sector. Since mechanical engineering involves the study, design and construction of almost all physical devices and systems, its demand will always rise for the betterment of mankind. The job opportunities being an engineer will change as per the domain of the company. Since you will be required to design and control the systems and equipment's that are need in the process of manufacturing machines and further conducting quality checks of the final product, they will be highly sought-after by various reputed firms.

Work opportunities in the automobile, aerospace and power generation industry are ample for excellent mechanical engineers. Hence, talented engineering graduates will surely enjoy a great future ahead and will succeed in their respective field. The one thing, which can be noted, is that all fields of engineering will grow in future and those who excel in their work and are competent enough will definitely surpass all challenges posed by life.
