Educate a Girl, Educate a Nation

Educate a Girl Educate a Nation

Education is one of the most important aspects towards the development of an individual, society and community. It’s not only about grade or marks but it’s about the knowledge you acquire and how you execute it in your life while taking important decisions.  In our society since ages, education is the area which offers some of the clearest examples of discrimination women suffer inspite of talking about the gender equality.  Girls are more than 70 percent of the 125 million children who don't have access to school and education and around two-thirds of the world's 880 million illiterate adults are women. Teaching about educating girls has been a dominant topic for discussion, which is relevant in the present time also. Encouraging girl’s education is one of the challenging tasks for the government of India towards the complete development of the country.

Every child is special and deserves the opportunity to learn but due to traditions and deep-rooted religious and cultural beliefs, the girl child faces the discrimination when competing with boys. To lead a healthy and a happier life it is important to promote girl’s education as it impart the skills, self-confidence and information to makes her a better individual and a responsible citizen. The barriers towards promoting girl’s education are many, but these are not insurmountable and can be achieved through self awareness, believing in equality and social messages. Girls should be free to make their own choice of living like male gender in the society, which is only possible with the power of education.

Some of the ways by which we can improve access to Education for girls are:

Parental and community involvement
Free education at primary schools
Recognized schools in close proximity to home in rural areas
Early preparation for school

We know that women have surpassed men at many levels of education hence it is our responsibility to reduce the social and financial obstacles towards encouraging the education for girls.

  2. If people look at the reports regarding number of Muslim girls who are illiterate around the world then they would be surprised. A large number of Muslim girls do not get any education in different parts of the world. Sometimes, they are not sent to schools and sometimes, they do not have any money to get admission to schools. There have been so many cases where nonprofit organizations have started special schools which are meant only for Muslim girls. You would be able to find islamic schools for girls like Jamea Al Kauthar with the help of the internet.
